The 2020 Borough Culture Grants are funded by One Brooklyn Fund Inc. and made possible by the NYC & Company Foundation – the charitable arm of New York City’s tourism industry. This grant supports New York City’s reputation, appealing as a culturally vibrant destination, by funding the promotion of not-for-profit arts and cultural events and programs in all five boroughs.
Today, One Brooklyn Fund Inc. (OBFI), in partnership with the Office of the Brooklyn Borough President, celebrated more than 24,000 pounds of food — including more than 1,500 turkeys weighing more than 21,000 pounds as well as 2,600 pounds of vegetables — that have been donated to more than 100 local food pantries and houses of worship that are serving Brooklynites in need this Thanksgiving. Distributions were organized at Brooklyn Borough Hall in Downtown Brooklyn, Kings Plaza Shopping Center in Marine Park, and Plaza Auto Mall in Midwood. One Brooklyn Fund Inc. Executive Director Lori Luis gave thanks to the sponsors and volunteers who made this distribution possible, and spoke to the spirit of unity in giving back during the holiday season.
